Friends-Reunions in India

One of the three goals we had for our trip to India was to meet old friends and collegues to renew our friendships. We had a wonderful time doing this with many pleasant serendipidies too. We also got to meet the next generations and begin relationships with them as well. This was an added bonus to our trip. For Ken, this was the sweetest part of the trip.
Bunty is the son of the Man who was our taxi driver. He drove us again several times. He is now married with two children and also owns a treking company in India.

Puneet Kara (below) is like another son to me. We worked together on the computer systems at Woodstock. He still works for them, but his company has grown. He is now married with two children and still lives in Dehra Dun. He welcomed us into his home for a meal and we also got to see his parents again. This is a sweet memory of our trip.

The family below. Puneet's brothers both live and work in the states.
Dr Reeta Rao and Hari started SNEHA: a work aiding the people who work in the city dumps. They now have 1000 children in their school.

Yes, those are tears of JOY.......

Dr Rao also teaches handicrafts to the women so they have marketable skills. Many people work in the dump because there is no other work available.

Our hosts at Woodstock and long time friends. These two Judy and Dana have been in India for over 30 years.

One of my former bosses who was in India to do a school evaluation of Hebron School in the south of India. It was good to see him and be invited to the supper/bonfire in his honor.

Jim Lehman in the background. Came back again to help woodstock.

Love that Kana

Ajay and Vinay.

Brin, a former student and Judy and Cathy

Dana does the Grandpa routine well.

Betsy and Jim Lehman

Hot tea and a hot bonfire.

Shonila always is always so classy.

These are the people who work for the Criders. Gabi talked to them about servants in France

The new resturant in town. We ate some tibetian dumplings and then spagetti.
Lunch at a small town back in the mountains.

The movie star on the left is Vinay then Gabi and Betsy

My harware stoe guy. He remembers me everytime I return and still had the photo I took of him and his little daughter who now is married with several children.

This is Kashmiri merchant. He remembered me as well.

Mr Singh; Bunty's father. He is a great driver: a man we could count on.

The shoe maker. He is still making shoes from a catalogue I gave him 15 years ago. He made a pair of sandels for Gabi.

Brim and his wife who owns the Northern Store. I used to sit in the bazaar with him and chat. It was good to see them again.

Vinay is my best friend in India. He was and is a great friend.

Noeline Mangelwadi's parents in Delhi. Some new friends for us.

Vaibav and hhis new wife Sharon. He produces the shopping channel for CNBC in Delhi. He was a young teenager the last time I saw him.
Pradeep and Sherrin Last time Pradeep was a little boy. It is great to meet the next generations and begin a friendship with them. Sherrin is studying French in Delhi.

Joyce at work. What great friends the Daniels family has been.

You get a plaque in front of your house if you are the director

Joyce at her desk at the Leprosy Mission in Delhi.

This is a typical photo of these two hardworking servants of God. I tease them about learning how to be retired now that Jeyakumar is retired.
